Jan 18, 2016 512ce 12-Fret This fingerstyle dream blends the physical comfort of our compact Grand Concert body, the warm and responsive voice of mahogany topped with cedar, and the slinky handfeel of the 12-fret, 24-7/8-inch scale length neck into an effortlessly expressive 6-string. 712e 12-Fret On Taylor’s 12-fret Grand Concert models, the shorter neck meets the body at the 12th fret rather than the 14th, and the bridge position is shifted closer to the center of the lower bout. On other Taylor steel-string models, the neck meets the body at the 14th fret. A 12-fret neck is also slightly shorter than our 14-fret necks, with two fewer total frets (18 versus 20). The different positioning of the neck relative to the body shifts the bridge location away from the soundhole, closer to the center of the lower bout.
